Deep Tissue Massage
What is Deep Tissue?
Deep tissue massage is more like a focused technique that is used within a Swedish massage. When using deep tissue techniques, your therapist applies slow, firm pressure to release muscle tension in the deeper layers of muscles. Since the focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints), there is typically less focus on relaxing the nervous system during your massage and more on muscluar repair.
